2D इको एक प्रकार की अल्ट्रासाउंड इमेजिंग तकनीक है जिसका उपयोग हृदय की संरचना और कार्य का मूल्यांकन करने के लिए किया जाता है। इसमें उच्च आवृत्ति की ध्वनि तरंगों का उपयोग किया जाता है जो हृदय से टकराकर वापस आती हैं।
ये प्रतिबिंब कंप्यूटर स्क्रीन पर दो आयामी छवियों के रूप में दिखाई देते हैं।
2D इको हृदय के वाल्वों, कक्षों, और अन्य संरचनाओं की संरचना और कार्य का आकलन करने में मदद करता है।
इसका उपयोग हृदय रोगों जैसे वाल्व रोग, हृदय की विफलता, जन्मजात हृदय रोगों आदि का पता लगाने के लिए किया जाता है।2D इको एक दर्द रहित और गैर-इनवेसिव परीक्षण है।
यह गर्भवती महिलाओं में भी सुरक्षित रूप से किया जा सकता है।
2D इको कार्डियोलॉजिस्ट द्वारा किया जाता है।
