Join our cancer case manager, Cher, and health coach, Elliot, as they watch AXA Ambassador, Amy Conroy, and her family's powerful conversation about life after cancer.

In this reaction video, Cher and Elliot share insights from their experiences supporting our members through their cancer journeys - from managing scan anxiety to making sustainable lifestyle changes after treatment ends.

Amy's original video explored the unspoken challenges of survivorship, including mental health struggles and finding a new normal. Now, our healthcare professionals offer their perspective on why these conversations matter and how they approach supporting members through similar challenges.

Our cancer care services are designed to help AXA Health members through all the challenges they might face.

Services discussed are available to members with cancer cover on selected plans. If you’re an existing AXA Health member, please refer to your membership handbook to see whether this is something available to you. Private health insurance is generally designed to provide cover for treatment of medical conditions that begin after you take out cover.
As well as providing access to treatment, we're at the end of the phone to provide information and reassurance, to support our members’ wellbeing. We can signpost to relevant mental health resources or, if applicable, coordinate expert support through our available benefits.

If you're diagnosed with cancer and your AXA Health membership covers cancer treatment, you'll be connected to our Cancer Care Team and allocated your own dedicated case manager to support you every step of the way.
About our Cancer Care Team
• Our Cancer Care Team is here to support you during every step of your cancer journey. As soon as you've let us know about an eligible cancer diagnosis, we’ll connect you to your very own cancer case manager. They’ll be your dedicated, consistent and reliable point of contact, for guidance and support when you need it most. They're at the end of the phone for you and your family, whatever the worry.
• Your cancer case manager will contact you for regular check-ins and you can call them with any questions or concerns related to your diagnosis, treatment or medication. They can also liaise with consultants, manage paperwork and help with organising treatment, taking away some of the strain.
• We know that your cancer journey doesn't stop when you're given the all clear. Your dedicated cancer case manager will still be there for you after any active treatment has finished, providing support and guidance for as long as you need.
• Our Cancer Care Team is made up of a mix of skilled case managers and clinically trained nurses, including those with on-the-ward oncology experience . You'll be given a direct phone number for your case manager and they’ll ensure your notes are always up to date so you won’t have to explain your situation if your case manager happens to be away.

Health coaching for AXA Health members with cancer

We know that helping our members recover from cancer is about more than just beating the disease. Cancer affects every aspect of your life and can have a lasting impact on your physical and mental health, so we've designed our services to support you beyond your active treatment.
Our dedicated health coaching service has been created by clinical experts. It’s designed to look at every aspect of your health and help you feel more like yourself, both during and after treatment. During this six-month coaching programme, you’ll have regular online sessions with a dedicated health coach. They’ll help you set goals and give you personalised expert guidance where it matters most to you, from eating better and exercising more, to getting better sleep, managing your side-effects and dealing with low mood or lack of energy.
We want to make sure our members continue to feel supported after being given the all clear, so you can start our health coaching programme for up to two years after your active treatment ends.
