In Episode 2, Dr. Bryant Lin shares the four seasons of his cancer journey, from his diagnosis last year to becoming this year’s keynote speaker at the Stanford School of Medicine graduation ceremony. At the end, Dr. Lin sings “You Are My Sunshine” for his mother, who has advanced dementia but still responds to music and has never forgotten how to be kind—a song she once sang to him.

Dr. Bryant Lin, this year’s keynote speaker at the Stanford School of Medicine graduation ceremony, is a second-generation Taiwanese American. In addition to his many accomplishments — including co-founding the Stanford Center for Asian Health Research and Education (CARE) — Dr. Lin has devoted himself to sharing his journey from physician to patient after being diagnosed with terminal lung cancer last year. He hopes to inspire more people to engage in cancer research, and his story has touched communities across the United States and around the world.

In the coming weeks, we’ll have the opportunity to hear directly from Dr. Bryant Lin.
