Can we streamline the diagnosis and management of acute coronary syndrome in the emergency department?
In this episode, we hear Prof. Evangelos Giannitsis from the University of Heidelberg, on what characterizes acute coronary syndrome, the complexities that come with its recognition and treatment, and how clinical decision support tools are moving clinical practice forward.
In an era where emergency settings are overcrowded and healthcare resources are limited, Prof. Giannitsis shares his perspective on the aspects of digital solutions that can advance patient triage, risk assessment, resource allocation, and adherence to care protocols.
Dr. Evangelos Giannitsis is a Senior Physician in the Cardiology, Angiology, and Pneumology Clinic, and Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Heidelberg. He is also the Research Group Leader for the Cardiac Biomarker Group, leading the Chest Pain Unit initiative of the German Society of Cardiology, and presiding as the Chair of the certification committee for Chest Pain Units.
