Published
HRS 25 - TRANSFORM-AF shows patients with atrial fibrillation and obesity treated with a GLP-1 RA experienced a reduction in atrial fibrillation (AF)-related events.

We are joined by Dr Varun Sundaram (Case Western Reserve University, US) to discuss the findings from the TRANSFORM-AF Study, which aimed to determine whether GLP-1 RAs could reduce the burden of AF in patients with both AF and obesity. The study enrolled 2510 patients from Veteran Affairs medical centers across the United States.

Interview Questions:
1. What is the importance of this study?
2. What was the study design and patient population?
3. What are your key findings?
4. What are the key take-home messages for clinicians?
5. What research questions remain, and what are the next steps?

Recorded remotely from Ohio, 2025.
