Vidhu Anand, MBBS, an Associate Professor of Medicine in Cardiology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, shares insights from her article appearing in the March 2025 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings, where she found about one-third of patients with a diagnosis of tricuspid valve regurgitation had improved conditions with medical treatment at 1-year, while the remaining either progressed to one-grade shift in severity or remained in the same level of severity. Dr. Anand notes clinicians should closely monitor patient progression annually and should review medical, surgical and catheter-based options with patients to reduce long-term clinical consequences.
