Maria Antonietta Gambacorta, MD, Catholic University of the Sacred Heart, Milan, Italy, comments on the results of the PLATO ACT 4 randomized trial evaluating the reduced dose of chemotherapy in patients with early-stage anal cancer. Prof. Gambacorta notes that reducing the dose of radiotherapy from 50 Gray to 41 Gray in 23 fractions did not compromise the local recurrence-free survival rate, which remained above 85%. This interview took place at the ESTRO 2025 congress in Vienna, Austria.
