Intro music: Church of 8 Wheels by Otis McDonald
In this video, I discuss some of the ways that we reach "the point of no return" in relationships. We tend to assume that anything we do is reversible, but there are many situations where one or both people in a relationship feel an irreversible line has been crossed. These include: when one person has been mistreated one time too many, when they have been hurt or betrayed too badly, when their needs have gone unmet for too long, when contempt has settled in, and when they get "the ick." By the time respect and attraction go out the window, or contempt and disgust start to creep in, it may be too late to salvage the relationship.
Time Stamps:
0:00 Intro
2:27 The threshold of mistreatment
4:41 A hurt so great it can’t be undone
5:57 The resentment has built up too high
7:40 Contempt
9:58 The “ick”
12:08 Takeaways
