Radiofrequency is a novel treatment for erectile dysfunction! In this video on UroChannel, Dr. med. Dr. phil. Stefan Buntrock, a urologist and sexologist from Göttingen will be discussing the "Cucumber Mask," a novel device I introduced in November 2023 to improve erectile function through radiofrequency. While the name may sound quirky, the concept is serious—regular care for the penis, just like any part of the body, is essential. A year later, he is sharing my personal experience with this method and answering common questions about its efficacy. As a board-certified urologist with expertise in sexual medicine, his goal is to provide honest insights about medical treatments like this.
Radiofrequency has shown promise in improving erectile function, particularly through its ability to increase nitric oxide release. Some patients reported noticeable improvements in morning erections and erectile function after only a few sessions. However, it's important to acknowledge that results can vary. Just as some men don't benefit from drugs like Viagra, not everyone will respond to radiofrequency treatment. While there have been positive outcomes with Peyronie’s disease and erectile dysfunction, not all patients experienced the same improvements. Clinical trials are still needed to fully understand its potential for treating conditions like Peyronie’s disease or aiding recovery post-prostate surgery.
Currently, research is underway, and over 5,000 devices are being used worldwide. There is growing evidence that radiofrequency could improve not only erectile function but also urinary flow. Currently, clinical trials are recruiting for its potential use in penile rehabilitation after radical prostatectomy. In future videos, I’ll explore how this technology may enhance sexual health and address conditions like lower urinary tract symptoms.
