The asymptomatic course of urolithiasis emphasizes the importance of regular preventive examinations and timely consultation with a doctor. Early diagnosis and treatment allow you to avoid serious complications and maintain kidney health.
Urine is the end product of a complex physiological system that ensures homeostasis of the body. The process of urine formation includes glomerular filtration, tubular reabsorption and secretion. As a result of these processes, nitrogen metabolism products (urea, creatinine), excess water, electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chlorine) and other metabolites are excreted from the body.
Unfortunately, this complex mechanism often fails, and when the physiological balance is disturbed, an excessive concentration of mineral salts is observed in the urine. These salts begin to precipitate, forming microscopic crystals. Over time, these crystals aggregate, that is, stick together, forming larger structures - stones.
