In this video, Ola Landgren, MD, PhD, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center & University of Miami, Miami, FL, outlines the work that has been done to understand the biology of smoldering multiple myeloma (SMM) and highlights the trials that have investigated approaches to managing this precursor condition. Prof. Landgren mentions recent trials that have assessed daratumumab in this patient population, showing that the agent can significantly delay the progression of SMM into overt multiple myeloma (MM). As a result, daratumumab is currently pending FDA approval in this setting. Finally, Prof. Landgren introduces the REVIVE study (NCT06100237), which is investigating teclistamab in combination with daratumumab, with the aim of eradicating high-risk smoldering myeloma. This interview took place during the 2025 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
