LCFA Co-Founder Kim, Norris, and Executive Director Jim Baranski discuss hearing all day today from patient advocates, leading researchers, and medical experts pushing the boundaries of lung cancer treatment.
Dr. Jarushka Naidoo, a consultant Medical Oncologist at Beaumont Hospital in Dublin and a professor at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI), candidly shares how the LCFA Early Career Researcher Grant was a turning point in her career.
Dr. Jonathan Villa-Villena explains: "These are high-risk, high-reward ideas that, without funding, would never see the light of day." Dr. Villena-Vargas is an Assistant Professor of Cardiothoracic Surgery at New York-Presbyterian Hospital, Weill Cornell Medicine.
Dr. Triparn Sen adds: "It's not just about my research, it's about training the next generation of scientists who will continue fighting lung cancer." Dr. Triparna Sen is an associate professor in the Department of Oncological Sciences and the director of the lung cancer PDX platform at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York.
And lung cancer patient Frank McKenna explains what critical research funding LCFA and its donors provide means to him.
