Breast Cancer rising among younger South African women, study shows

October is Breast Cancer Awareness and concerns have been raised about the prevalence of this cancer among pre-menopausal women. A South African study reported that the average age of breast cancer diagnosis for women under 40 was 34 years. This also revealed that younger women are diagnosed with more aggressive forms of the disease. Dr Carine Kabanga, a Member of the Breast Imaging Society of South Africa, elaborates.
