Those of you who watch my wee 'Tom McClean Positive Belfast Channel', on Youtube, will know I have recently been in the Ulster and Royal Hospitals with what is refered to as a crescendo of angina attacks.

These attacks took place in a 30 hour period and needed a procedure or operation at the Belfast Royal Victoria Hospital. To rectify my heart angina situation, the plaque damage to one of my stents needed to be repaired. This was a highly skilled and tricky procedure carried out in the Royal Cardiac Unit by, Consultant Dr Ganesh Monoharan. I am most grateful to him for hiss kilful work on my heart.

Crescendo Angina
Unstable angina is defined as recurrent episodes of angina on minimal effort or at rest. It may be the initial presentation of ischaemic heart disease, or it may represent the abrupt deterioration of a previously stable anginal syndrome.

Unstable angina is also described as crescendo angina, pre-infarction angina, and intermediate chest pain syndrome.

Unstable angina is one of the possible presentations of acute coronary syndrome:

acute coronary syndrome (ACS) encompasses previous terms such as non-Q wave myocardial infarction and unstable angina
Unstable angina is provoked more easily and persists for longer than stable angina.
