Blessie Elizabeth Nelson, MBBS, DMRT, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, the genomic profile of metaplastic breast cancer (MPBC) using data from the AACR GENIE Cohort version 16.1, highlighting key alterations in genes such as TP53, PIK3CA, and chromatin-modifying enzymes. Findings reveal a high prevalence of potentially targetable mutations, with notable mutual exclusivity patterns, and frequent copy number alterations. These results emphasize the biological complexity of MPBC and support the pursuit of precision-targeted therapies to improve outcomes in this rare and aggressive breast cancer subtype. This interview took place at American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) Annual Meeting 2025 in Chicago, IL.
