Sung-Bae Kim, MD, PhD, Asan Medical Center, Seoul, South Korea, discusses the potential of immunotherapy in the hormone receptor-positive breast cancer space, highlighting that while this subtype is generally considered immunologically cold, a subset of patients may benefit from immune checkpoint inhibitors. Combination therapies, such as immune checkpoint inhibitors with chemotherapy in the neoadjuvant setting or with endocrine therapy and CDK4/6 inhibitors in the metastatic setting, may help overcome estrogen-driven immune suppression. This interview took place at 2025 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Asia Congress in Singapore, Singapore.
