"A colonoscopy saved my life.” Meet Joshua Jensen and hear first-hand the importance of having a colonoscopy screening. At 49 years old, he was experiencing a change in bowel habits. Following a colonoscopy, he was diagnosed with stage 3 rectal cancer. Thankfully, after a tumor board consisting of colorectal surgeons, oncologists, radiation oncologists, and other care providers, met to discuss a care plan for Joshua which included chemotherapy and minimally invasive robotic surgery to remove the tumor – Joshua was on his journey to recovery. With a higher prevalence of colon and rectal cancer in younger patients, it's important to undergo a colonoscopy beginning at age 45 to prevent colorectal cancer.
