Amid a sudden surge in cardiac deaths—especially among the young—Karnataka has made it mandatory for all healthcare providers to report heart attack fatalities within 24 hours. Autopsies are now compulsory to determine exact causes. The move comes after multiple alarming cases in Hassan and Chitradurga districts. Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao says this is a vital step to build stronger public health policy and prevent future tragedies.
