A new surgical procedure called NeuroSafe offers hope to prostate cancer patients by significantly reducing the risk of erectile dysfunction after surgery. This technique allows surgeons to preserve more nerves during the operation by checking the prostate tissue while it's being removed. In a trial, patients who underwent NeuroSafe showed a 38% incidence of erectile dysfunction, compared to 56% in those who had standard surgery. This breakthrough offers a promising solution for improving the quality of life for men after prostate cancer surgery.
