In this video Dr. Patel will go over what to do in the event there is a respiratory or cardiopulmonary code on a patient with a tracheostomy. He will go over how to assess the tracheostomy to ensure it is in place using the end title co2 devices. He will also discuss why you do not want to continue bagging if you are getting resistance. Lastly, he will review complications of bagging when the tracheostomy is not in place called subcutaneous emphysema and a life threatening complication called pneumomediastinum.
