In this surgical video, we demonstrate the uniportal video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (uVATS) approach for the resection of a mediastinal ectopic parathyroid adenoma.

This minimally invasive technique offers excellent visualization of the mediastinal structures with a small 3-4cm incision, minimizing surgical trauma by avoiding sternotomy/thoracotomy, reducing postoperative pain, and enabling faster recovery, Shorter hospital stay.

???? Key Highlights:

✔️ Patient is a k/c/o CKD on RRT awaiting transplant, now with tertiary hyperparathyroidism with elevated PTH not responding to calcimimetics.

✔️ Preoperative imaging localization (CT / Sestamibi scan)

✔️ Uniportal VATS approach for precise tumor excision

✔️ Preservation of vital mediastinal structures

✔️ Postoperative outcomes and recovery benefits

This video is intended for educational purposes, sharing surgical techniques and insights for thoracic surgeons, endocrine surgeons, and trainees.
