We provide a number of therapies and modalities in the clinic. Heart Rate Variability (HRV) has been an invaluable tool for myself and most of our patients. We encourage people to learn how to regulate their autonomic nervous system through this modality. We provide individualized HRV Biofeedback appointments that teach how YOU can improve your health outcomes without medication.
Heart Rate Variability (HRV) is the variation in time between each heartbeat over a period of time; It is coupled to the autonomic nervous system, specifically the balance between the sympathetic (fight or flight) and parasympathetic (rest and digest) branches. By teaching a person to breathe correctly and in harmony with their physiology, we can improve HRV and the person can see and feel the real-time affects of a regulated nervous system.
When your autonomic nervous system is unable to get into a repair state and is fluctuating poorly between a sympathetic and parasympathetic state, one can have difficulty managing anxiety, sleep, and often times, depression. The downstream affects of long term autonomic dysfunction can also lead to chronic illness if the body is struggling to regularly repair.
Understanding how to balance your nervous system and resonate ones physiological systems through HRV provides short and long-term benefits. Check out our video above to see an example of an HRV appointment in our office!
