Frontline management of clinical stage 1 non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)

Summary:
- Panelists recommend repeat workup with a brain MRI to rule out intracranial disease.
If the recurrence is localized and in the parenchyma, could offer the patient surgery with either a minimally invasive approach or a thoracotomy.
- Hypofractionated radiation (3Gy fractions) could be offered if surgery is not an option. Panelists would avoid higher doses given the high risks of radiating along the staple-line.
